The Robbin's House Museum in Concord, MA asked for an interactive that would allow users to explore the families who had previously lived in the house.
I started by creating a couple Look and Feels utilizing the colors used in the museum website. The colors were then paired back to a subdued duotone palette to signify simplicity. The hand drawn style and textures reflected the old-fashioned nature of the house itself and wooden textures.
Pairing the look and feel with the flowchart and wireframes and working collaboratively with the CD, developer, and AP, I designed and illustrated three family trees that corresponded with the three main families who had lived there. I animated the robin as a fun easter egg.
It was a challenge to fit a large amount of content in a single interactive.
The solution was that we designed the experience so the visitor could zoom in to learn more about an individual or zoom out to see the connections the individuals had to one another.
