This project consisted of various multimedia projects for the Museum of Idaho's Way Out West exhibit. The exhibit's goal was to help tell the environmental story of Idaho's landscape. This project included 4 interactives: Storefront Explorer, Photo Archive Explorer, Hotspots and Mammoth Hunter (not shown).
Expanding creatively upon the exhibit brand guidelines, I designed a digital look and feel and 4 interactive exhibits complete with hand-drawn illustrations and animations to create a cohesive, educational and playful experience.
Photo Archive Explorer was an interactive way to view images from different time periods up on a configuration of monitors above.
In order to design Photo Archive Explorer, I designed the interface as a way to swipe through images quickly, using a series of color-coordinated dots to relate to eras below.
For the Storefronts interactive, I was asked to design a series of 6+ ipad apps that allowed the user to interact and learn about the objects seen within the built storefronts.
To create the Storefronts exhibit, I designed the background to be a representation of the view in the window. Object descriptions were designed to slide in from the bottom of the screen when an object was tapped, providing context.
For the Hotspots Interactive, I was asked to design a map of Idaho that showed where the land moved over the geothermal hotspot. This was designed as a video that would use UI for the user to scrub back and forth through time.
